ASHTANGA YOGA RETREATS
All our yoga retreats are suitable for beginners as well as for already more advanced yoga students. Ashtanga yoga retreat classes are held every morning on our shaded roof terrace (110m2) with fantastic panoramic views.
A TYPICAL DAY AT OUR YOGA RETREAT HOLIDAY
Main yoga practice of the day usually happens as the sun rises over the distant mountains. Guests are welcome to drinks before the practice and throughout the day. Fruit is also available and other light snacks. The practice lasts from 1 to 2 hours depending on the course.
Breakfast. Buffet style: Porridge, muesli, yoghurt's, fruit and Spanish style bread/toast with tomatoes garlic and olive oil.
Free time until lunch around 1pm.
Lunch: usually this is the main meal of the day.
Afternoon activity. Either a soft practice or walk or free time to explore. Trips within the nature reserve include visiting the spring fed river where swimming in totally clear water is recommended.
Sunset Evening Meal.Lighter than the main meal and orientated towards helping the morning practice.
Evening time is for enjoying the splendor and magic of the mountains as the light fades. Enjoy the spacious hermitage or the solitude and peace all around.
SHOPPING
El Covento Retreat has its own ecoglam boutique. Clothes, sunhats and local products for you to enjoy.
MASSAGE
Relax and enjoy a Thai Yoga Massage treatment with our qualified therapist available at reasonable rates.
No yoga classes on arrival and departure days.
FREE TIME
There are numerous walks at El Convento Retreat. Within the reserve there are well established paths for ramblers that will take you far into the mountains in safety and beauty.
Day Trip to Ronda (additional fee for transport)
After breakfast transport to Ronda can be arranged. The breathtaking drive takes 1 hour and goes over 2 mountain passes. The city has a historical centre and is widely known for its magnificent location atop of a gorge and commands incredible views. Renowned for being the most beautiful mountain town in Andalucia. Friendly locals and great food and shopping.Very popular with Spanish and tourists alike. Returning to El Convento Retreat for evening meal.
Trip to Spring Water River in reserve (additional fee for transport)- Taking supplied lunch we stay within the reserve and spend the day by the river.Possible to swim in the clear cool river passing unspoilt natural beauty. Great for sunbathing and having fun.
The water bolsa (Tank) is ideal for cooling and dipping, situated next to the church at El Convento.
